An Amy Cope Photography Client Shares Their Experience with the Little Miracles Trust
Our son, Noah was born at 35 weeks and he spent the following 75 days in the NICU, PICU and Ward 23B, the cardiac ward. Noah was born with a cleft lip and palate which was diagnosed antenatally but as we found out once he’d arrived, Noah also had some cardiac abnormalities. The support we received from the Little Miracles Trust was instant. We were gifted a little purple cooler bag with an array of goodies for mums and bubs to use during that time in NICU. I didn’t know it at the time but in hindsight, it was like a sign of a membership to a club you never signed up for. Spotting other parents with their LMT bags in the corridors meant you shared something in common, a look to say “I get it!” was always shared.
Chavvah was working in the LMT office when we were there and she would always pop in, see if we were okay, offer check-ins, meals and just normal chat which was incredible. It was so lovely to see a familiar face who wasn’t in the medical profession, she was there for us as Noah’s parents, and we truly valued those moments greatly. I also found the One in Ten podcast during our time on the NICU and found listening to other people's stories reassuring that we were not alone during such an unknown time.
In our Little Miracles Trust bag was a gift voucher for Amy Cope Photography. We always knew we wanted to get some professional photos taken early of Noah, especially with his cleft lip, so it was perfect that the opportunity presented itself so easily for us. Booking was really simple, Amy was understanding of our delays and having to change our booking due to Noah still being in hospital. When we finally had our photo session Amy’s studio was perfect; well equipped for warming bottles and she never rushed us or Noah. She was prepared, had things to hand if we’d forgotten something and guided us in deciding what clothing to wear to complement each other. We couldn’t have been happier with the photos that were captured, of such a special time in our lives when Noah finally made it home.
Thank you so much to the Little Miracles Trust for all they do for the littlest miracles, but also their families who so gratefully receive the support we didn’t know we needed.

About Amy
Hi, I’m Amy, a photographer with over 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years dedicated to newborn photography. With a degree in fashion and a professional background in the field, I’ve cultivated a strong appreciation for texture, colour, and all things beautiful - elements that naturally complement my work behind the camera. I’m also a proud Member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography and hold the distinction of being an accredited Master Photographer.
As a mother of four, I know firsthand how fleeting and precious those newborn moments are. I vividly remember the overwhelming love I felt when my first daughter was born, how I couldn’t stop marvelling at her tiny perfection, and how I wished I could freeze time. Each of my children’s births deepened that joy and improved my photography skills as I captured every little detail—their lashes, tiny fingernails, and the way they curled up so perfectly.
Every family I photograph reminds me of that awe and wonder I felt as a new mother. My goal is to provide that same feeling for you - to preserve the beauty of your children’s early days in images that you will treasure forever. These are the moments you’ll look back on with fondness and pride, and I feel privileged to create timeless keepsakes for families to cherish for generations.
